For example, CMR Green Technologies listed about 43% above its issue price, beating its pre-listing GMP estimate, while many issues list below what GMP implied. Treat GMP as one unofficial sentiment signal among many, never as a basis for an investment decision on its own.

Mainboard IPOs list on the main BSE/NSE platforms, are typically larger, and have small lot sizes (often under Rs 15,000 per application). SME IPOs list on BSE SME or NSE Emerge, come from smaller companies, and have much larger minimum lots — often Rs 1-3 lakh — with lower liquidity and higher risk.
